The US government has implemented a ban on the use of the Chinese artificial intelligence tool DeepSeek within its agency IT systems. According to multiple sources, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced this decision, indicating that all products developed by DeepSeek, as well as tools created by third parties using DeepSeek, must be removed from government IT devices.

This action comes amid ongoing concerns regarding the protection of sensitive data and national security. The DHS highlighted that the use of DeepSeek's tools 'may result in the transfer of sensitive data' back to China, underscoring the potential security risks associated with foreign-made technologies.

According to The Consulo analysis, this ban could signify a broader effort by the US government to safeguard critical information as tensions with China escalate in the technology sector. Facilities that previously integrated DeepSeek technology may require significant adjustments to comply with these new regulations.
